Nasturtium (Tropaeolum Lobbianum Yeti)Ā - Grow this rare shade of Climbing Nasturtium from flower seed. Yeti Nasturtium was named after the rare, ape-like creature that according to legends lives in the Himalayas. While Nasturtium Yeti white is rare, there is nothing ape-like about this beautiful vining annual! The profusion of creamy white blossoms is quite a sight to behold! This tall vining annual is such a rewarding plant to grow from Nasturtium seeds. It grows easily and quickly and gives blooms from mid summer to first frost. Give Yeti Nasturtium Climbing Vines a trellis or fence to climb or let the vines meander through evergreen shrubs.

Nasturtium flower seed is one of the largest flower seeds. At only 8 seeds per gram, it is larger than corn seed. It's a great seed for children to plant and grow their first garden flower!

Yeti Nasturtium does best when it is left alone. It will tolerate most any soil type, but prefers not to be fertilized. Over-fertilization will produce lovely foliage, but no flowers. Keep watered, but allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Nasturtium Yeti is used as a companion plant for the vegetable garden. It is said that the peppery-flavored leaves ward off many insects. Nasturtium likes a full sun place in the garden in cooler climates. For the hottest regions, afternoon shade is preferable to Nasturtium plants. Tropaeolum Yeti plants will grow anywhere as an annual, but they will only survive as a perennial in frost-free zones.

It is recommend to directly sow Yeti Nasturtium seeds outdoors in spring. Nasturtium seedlings do not transplant well into the garden when started indoors. Before sowing Climbing Nasturtium seeds, soak the seeds overnight in warm water. The next day, plant the Nasturtium flower seeds 1/2 inch deep in an area that gets at least 6 hours of direct sun each day. Have the soil worked so that it's fine and light. Climbing Nasturtiums flower in 8 - 12 weeks after being sown from flower seeds.
