Southern Giant Curled Mustard Greens Seeds are known for their winter hardy nature and ability to thrive in cool temperatures. In just 50-60 days, you can enjoy a crop of nutrient-rich greens that will enhance any meal.

This winter hardy vegetable has a superb flavor and high yields of large green curly frilled mustard leaves. It is rich in Vitamins A, B, and C, making it an excellent choice for freezing and canning. A staple in the South, it matures in just 56 days. 
Sow from early spring through fall. Cover seed with 1/4 inch fine soil. Sow at 2 week intervals for continuing harvest.
Bright green leaves are crumpled, heavily curled with frilled margins. Large, slow bolting; upright plants.
Large curly frilly light to darker green leaves on sturdy, upright plants.
Use young leaves in salads for a mild mustard flavor. In southern areas boiled down for a tender flavored add on in meals. A relatively long standing variety. Its flavor is best during cooler weather on less mature plants.
Mustard Greens - Southern Giant Curled - Brassica juncea
Hardy Annual Large wide long oval bright green leaves, curled and fringed on the edges, slow to bolt. Upright, vigorous hardy plants with a mild mustardy flavor. Cold resistant and slow to bolt, it's ideal for the home garden or market production. Also called Southern Curled.
Soil & Water: Mustard greens prefers rich, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.5 and plenty of added organic matter. The plants need regular, even moisture to avoid bitterness.
Planting & Growing: Start seeds indoors and transplant out before the frost, or sow seeds directly a few weeks before the last frost. Mustard is very cold tolerant.
Harvesting & Storage: Begin harvesting individual leaves after the center rosette has begun to develop. You can begin harvesting at 6" by picking outside leaves. Mustard greens are slow to bolt and are winter hardy.
Did You Know? Mustard greens contain large amounts of beta-carotene and vitamins A and C.
SOWING:
Sow from early spring through fall. Cover seed with 1/4 inch fine soil. Sow at 2 week intervals for continuing harvest.
GERMINATION:
One to two weeks. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Enjoy

Space rows about 18 inches apart or closer if limited in space. I preferr to broadcast all mustard varieties.

Thin plants gradually to 6 inches apart in rows. Enjoy taking your thinned greens and add into a salad.
