SEASCAPE STRAWBERRY PLANT
Highly successful for Northeastern growers for summer and fall production. Seascape will flower and fruit all season. The berries are large, prolific, and have good flavor when picked ripe from the plant.
ALBION STRAWBERRY PLANT
Albion strawberry produces very large fruit that is mostly conical, very firm and red in color. Its flavor is very good for a day-neutral. To get the high yields it is capable of producing, this variety will need a stronger watering and nutrient program than any other everbearer. Wider plant spacing will deliver the largest berries.
PLANTING
Strawberry plants grow best in sunny or partially shaded areas with moist, well-drained soil. Make sure to use rich fertilizers such as compost or aged manure and maintain a pH level between 6.5-6.8. Prepare beds in advance to prevent unwanted weeds.
Plant strawberry plants 12-18" apart, 3-4' apart in rows. -Some growers prefer closer spacing (5-9" in single rows or staggered double rows with 10-20" in-row spacing) and no runners removal during the bed's lifespan. -Ensure the crown is level with the soil and mulch with straw in late fall. Remove mulch in spring to allow growth, but keep it in aisles to maintain clean fruit and suppress weeds.
Preferred Sunlight: Full Sun (6+ hours)
Preferred Soil Moisture: Moist
Fertilizer Needs: When transplanted and then once every Spring
Survives Winter in Zones: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
