Planting Instructions

• Plant in a full sun, well-drained, loamy location. Bearded iris are rhizomes, not bulbs.
• Plant with the rhizome top exposed — roots face downward. In very light soils or hot climates, covering with 1" of soil is acceptable.
• Space approximately 18" apart for mass plantings.
• Firm soil around each rhizome and water well to settle.

Care Tips

• Fertilize in early spring and again in late summer to support rebloom.
• Divide clumps every 3–4 years (August) to maintain vigor.
• Watch for iris borer; remove and destroy affected rhizomes promptly.
• Caution: Harmful if eaten.
