Antirrhinum majus 'Arrow Yellow' is a tall, sun-loving snapdragon with clear yellow flower spikes reaching 36 inches — a classic bedding and cutting garden performer. Actually a short-lived perennial native to southwestern Europe and the Mediterranean, Arrow Yellow is grown as an annual in northern climates and as an outstanding winter annual in warm-winter southern regions. The distinctly lipped flowers snap open and shut when squeezed, giving snapdragons their name. Excellent as a long-lasting cut flower. Tall stems make it ideal for large arrangements. Deer resistant; hummingbird-friendly.

- Clear yellow flower spikes to 36 inches — bold in beds and stunning in bouquets
- Long-lasting cut flower; beloved by hummingbirds

- Self-reseeds readily; deer resistant
- Grown as annual in northern zones; excellent winter annual in mild climates
Growing Guide
Starting indoors: Sow 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Surface-sow on pre-moistened starter mix; press gently — do not cover. Seeds need light to germinate. Harden off for 10–14 days before transplanting. Pinch back at transplant time to encourage branching.
Direct sowing (mild winters): Sow in a sheltered seedbed in late summer; transplant young plants into their permanent location for winter and spring blooms.
Site and soil: Full sun; rich, moist, well-drained soil, pH 6.0–7.3. Add organic matter for best results. Space 12–18 inches apart. In hot climates, provide afternoon shade. Trim spent flower spikes to promote a second flush of bloom.
