Size: 1 Packet-10 seeds

Grow an unusual, intensely hot chili with Genghis Khan Brain pepper seeds. Its heavily bumpy skin and fruity flavor make it an interesting choice for experienced superhot pepper growers. Use the harvested fruit very sparingly in sauces and cooked dishes, with careful handling from harvest to preparation.

Starting Indoors

Sow approximately 1/4 inch deep in a clean, well-drained seed-starting mix. Keep the mix warm and lightly moist rather than saturated. Gentle bottom heat can help maintain consistent warmth. Provide bright light once seedlings emerge and maintain good air circulation.

Superhot pepper germination can be slow and uneven. Start early and allow several weeks rather than relying on a guaranteed emergence date.

Transplanting and Containers

Harden seedlings off gradually over 1–2 weeks, starting with sheltered exposure and increasing sunlight. Transplant after frost danger has passed and soil and nighttime temperatures are reliably warm. Protect plants from chilly nights.

Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. For container growing, use a pot with drainage holes and approximately 5 gallons or more of growing space. Indoor growing requires adequate light and warmth; year-round fruit production is not guaranteed.

Care and Harvest

Water consistently without leaving roots waterlogged. Mulch can help conserve moisture. Feed according to fertilizer directions and plant needs. Support larger plants as needed.

Harvest mature fruit with scissors or pruners rather than pulling, and wear gloves while picking. Exact maturity timing and ripe fruit color are not supplied in the current variety information.

Superhot Pepper Safety

Wear gloves when handling seeds or peppers. Avoid touching your eyes, face, or sensitive areas. Wash hands, utensils, and work surfaces thoroughly afterward. Keep peppers and seeds away from children and pets.

Do not use lime juice as a skin-burn remedy. Avoid inhaling pepper dust or processing fumes, and use good ventilation when preparing fruit. Do not use these peppers for eating challenges. Begin with very small amounts in recipes. Do not eat the planting seeds supplied in the packet.
