Size: 1 plant

Let fragrant rosemary spill over the edge of a sunny patio pot, terrace, or garden wall. Trailing rosemary combines aromatic, needle-like evergreen foliage with a low, spreading habit, bringing both culinary usefulness and year-round texture to suitable warm-climate gardens. Keep a container near your kitchen door for fresh sprigs when you cook.

  • Uses: Culinary herb gardens, patio containers, wall edges, and terraces.

Choose Your Plant Pack

Select 1, 3, or 10 live plants for a single container or a larger planting project. These are starter plants that need time to establish and develop their trailing growth. Size and appearance vary with the season and growing conditions.

Planting

Choose a sunny location where water drains freely. For container growing, use a pot with drainage holes and avoid heavy mixes that stay wet. Water after transplanting and monitor soil moisture while the roots establish. Position plants near an edge where their stems can cascade naturally.

Watering and Maintenance

Allow the soil to dry somewhat between waterings rather than keeping it constantly wet. Established rosemary tolerates dry conditions, but newly transplanted plants need closer attention. Trim lightly as needed to encourage a tidy, compact display while allowing room for spreading stems.

Harvesting for the Kitchen

Once plants are established and growing actively, snip small sprigs as needed, leaving plenty of foliage for continued growth. Use the aromatic leaves to season roasted vegetables, sauces, and savory dishes. Rinse harvested sprigs before use.

Cold-Weather Care

Protect trailing rosemary from severe cold. In areas with cold winters, grow it in a movable container and bring it into a bright, protected indoor location before freezing weather. Provide ample light and avoid overwatering during slower winter growth.
