Nombo Giant Okra Seeds
Grow Nombo Giant okra, a tall-growing variety valued for its green, slender pods. Okra is also called bhindi or lady’s fingers and is a favorite for stir-fries, curries, soups, stews, and gumbo. When cooked, the pods can help thicken broths and sauces.

Planting
Sow outdoors after the risk of frost has passed and the soil is warm. Choose a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil and leave room for mature plants. Sow seeds in moist soil and keep it evenly damp while seedlings establish, without leaving it waterlogged. Germination depends on soil warmth and moisture.
If starting indoors for a shorter growing season, use individual containers and transplant carefully to minimize root disturbance. Acclimate seedlings to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Growing and Harvesting
Water deeply during dry periods and adjust to your soil and weather. Harvest pods regularly while they are tender, using clean pruners and checking plants often as pods develop. Pod size, plant height, and harvest timing vary with growing conditions. Okra foliage and pods can be prickly; gloves and long sleeves may make harvesting more comfortable.
