Hemerocallis ‘Purple D’Oro’ is a compact, freely reblooming miniature daylily — a purple-flowered counterpart to the iconic yellow ‘Stella D’Oro.’ Diploid cultivar producing 2.75-inch reddish-purple flowers with ruffled edges and yellowish throats on naked scapes rising to 24 inches above a clump of arching, blade-like leaves. Individual flowers open for one day; repeat blooms throughout the growing season, typically from May through summer. Excellent for slopes, edging, massing, foundations, and rock gardens. Slug resistant; clump-forming and freely multiplying. Sold as 3 roots per order.

Planting Guide

Planting: Plant in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate roots without bending or circling. Set the crown 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Backfill and water thoroughly.

Ongoing care: Low-maintenance and adaptable. Daylilies are clump-forming and multiply freely; divide every 3–4 years to maintain vigor and prevent overcrowding. Remove spent scapes for a tidy appearance.
