Planting Instructions

• Plant in fall for May–June blooms.
• Choose a full sun site with well-draining soil. Amend with compost, peat moss, or ground bark if needed.
• Plant bulbs 5" deep and 2" apart, pointed end up.
• Water well after planting to settle the soil around each bulb.
• In warmer climates, foliage emerges in fall; flowers follow in spring. In colder regions, both emerge after winter ends.

After Bloom Care

• Cut flowers freely for bold, dramatic spring bouquets.
• Leave foliage in place after blooming to recharge bulbs for next season.
• Water about 1" per week during active growth.
• Allow leaves to yellow and die back naturally in summer, then remove spent foliage.
• Bulbs naturalize and multiply each year — great color in the gap between spring and summer plants.

Container Growing

Plant in large containers with quality, well-draining potting mix and adequate drainage holes. Space 2–3" apart at 5" depth. 'Eye of the Tiger' pairs beautifully with golden or cream-colored spring bulbs to make the bold coloring really pop.
