Planting & Care Guide
Planting: Dig a hole large enough to accommodate roots without bending or circling. Set the crown 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Backfill and water thoroughly.
Site: Full sun (6+ hours) for best flowering; tolerates light shade. Needs good air circulation — space plants well and thin stems as needed to reduce powdery mildew risk. Avoid overhead watering.
Soil & moisture: Moderately fertile, medium-wet, well-drained soil. Prefers rich, moist, organic soil. Intolerant of drought — water during dry spells. Apply a summer mulch to keep the root zone cool and retain moisture.
Maintenance: Remove faded flower panicles to prolong bloom and prevent unwanted self-seeding. Fertilize at transplanting and once each spring.
