Grow a traditional field corn for golden kernels and hearty, homegrown staples. Reid's Yellow Dent is an heirloom, open-pollinated variety with tall stalks and large ears, grown for mature grain rather than the tender sweetness of sweet corn.
Dry the mature kernels for grinding into cornmeal, then bring your harvest to the kitchen in cornbread, muffins, hush puppies, and corn fritters.

Harvest and storage
