Lilium philippinense — the Philippine Lily, also known as the Benguet Lily — is one of the most exquisite and underused tropical lily species available to home growers. Native to the high-altitude mountains of northern Luzon (Philippines) and Taiwan, it produces large, elegant trumpet-shaped flowers of pure white with a subtle greenish tinge on the exterior, rising from graceful 2–3 foot stems. The fragrance is deeply sweet and intensely tropical — particularly pronounced on warm evenings. Germination Guide

1. Cold stratification: Mix seeds with moist vermiculite or peat in a sealed plastic bag; refrigerate at 35–40°F for 30–60 days to improve germination rates.

4. Moisture: Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Mist regularly to maintain humidity around seeds.
5. Germination time: Typically 3–6 weeks after stratification. Some seeds may take longer — be patient; do not discard pots prematurely.
