Size: 1 root

Hemerocallis ‘Christmas Time’ is a classic daylily bareroot perennial prized for its striking, brightly colored blooms and dependable repeat performance. Like all daylilies, each individual flower lasts just one day — but each stem carries several buds, and the plant flowers continuously in masses throughout the summer, creating a spectacular, long-season display. Bright green, strap-like foliage; evergreen in mild areas. Clump-forming and freely multiplying; naturalizes readily. Suitable for borders, groups, and naturalizing across a wide range of garden styles.

Plant Highlights

  • Striking two-tone blooms in continuous masses throughout summer
  • Multiple buds per stem — weeks-long flowering display
  • Bright green strap-like foliage; evergreen in mild climates
  • Clump-forming and freely multiplying; naturalizes easily
  • Suitable for borders, groups, and naturalizing; low maintenance

Planting Guide

Planting: Plant in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots without bending or circling. Set the crown 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Backfill and water thoroughly immediately after planting.

Watering: Daylilies prefer a deep watering once per week rather than light daily watering. Do not allow to dry out completely, and avoid waterlogged conditions.

Seasonal care: Remove dead blooms and leaves for a tidy appearance. In late fall, cut foliage to ground level and mulch over the root zone to protect against hard freezes. In colder climates, spring planting is preferred — fall-planted daylilies may not have time to establish roots before winter. In the South, plant in early spring or very late fall; avoid planting July–September in high heat and humidity (above 90°F).
