Primula Acaulis, also known as Common Primrose or English Primrose, is a popular perennial plant that can be grown from seeds to add color to late winter and early spring borders in mild climates.

Primrose (Primula Acaulis S1 Accord Blue) - Start PRIMROSE seeds indoors to have a bountiful supply of beautiful early spring plants. PRIMULA ACAULIS, also known as Common Primrose or English Primrose, is a beloved choice for adding vibrant color to mild climates during late winter and early spring. These charming flowers easily grow from seed and produce stunning, vivid colors. This variety showcases lightly scented 1 1/2 inch blooms in a brilliant blue hue. Every year, gardeners eagerly anticipate setting out Primrose plants as they mark the start of a new season of blooming. Another name for the English Primrose is Primula Vulgaris, known in the botanical world.

Sow Primrose seeds indoors in late fall or early winter. Use starter trays and a peaty starter mix. Press the Primula Acaulis seeds into the starter mix but do not cover the flower seeds. Light is beneficial for germination. After the Primrose seedlings get their second or third leaves they can be transplanted to a protected outdoor seedbed or individual pots. Plant out in late winter or early spring. When planting Common Primrose into its permanent place, amend the garden soil with plenty of peat moss and use a slow release fertilizer. Space the Primrose plants 8 inches apart in a partially shaded setting.
