Beets HEIRLOOM BEET SEEDS! âRuby Queen" Beet Seed (60 days)â
Ruby Queen
55 days â The beets are round with smooth skin and shoulders and have a fine, buttery texture. The interior is a uniform dark red with no zoning. Tops are dull green with a bit of maroon and reach a height of ten to twelve inches.
'Ruby Queen' became popular in the Northeast and as a canning variety. Performs well in poor soil. This beet also holds their shape well when crowded. Bred and released by Northrup King and company of Minneapolis and was an "All-America Selection®" winner in 1957.
Vegetable Planting: Direct sow outside as soon as the ground can be worked. Can also be fall planted. Plant about 4â apart and 1/2â below soil surface. Rows should be spaced at 12â-18â apart.
